The night was something that lana wanted to forget . She had retreated to her flat, closed the door with a kick of a fuzzy heal and made sure that all the locks had been placed and secured. It was something she never did, till tonight, considering the noisy neighbor downstairs turned out to be sasquach. She still couldn't believe it , the changes in the guy she thought was a regular Mr. Charming. Well it didn't matter now anyhow, she was going to keep her distance from the big hairy lugg and as she retrieved herself a cup of hot tea and honey, she settled in the window box, looking out over the city below
Syverus's mental domination of Lorelei didn't wear off after that night; she thought about him often since they had met at the cafe and he had so tempted her with less than professional thoughts. She had wanted badly to say yes to what the man had offered... but money was money, so she was meticulously checking out his suggestions of places to store her funds, before blindly transferring them. Now this building, this one had plenty of new renters, people who would be too distracted to worry about a possible burglar to always check their window locks and have their precious things stored in a safety deposit box at a local bank.
All black fitted over Lorelei's frame to make her blend in with the shadows as she wrapped a hand over the other on the fire escape ladder and moved swiftly rung over rung, her eyes seeking out the landings were windows were already dark... not the ones that were lit.
Lana sipped quietly at the cup of hot tea, the view of the city street below had been peaceful. Well for the time being it seemed. Every car had seemed to go in their own accord and the walks were fairly empty. It was still pretty late and she assumed most were staying inside as a hint of rain had still lingered in the air. Spring was not quite here fully so the chill of winters hand remained firmly in place.
Lana had pulled a blanket up over her legs as she curled further into the window seat and just as she glanced upward from her feet she noticed the shadow moving along the firescape below. A slender brow arched as the woman seemed to stand still for a moment, seeming as if she were regarding which home to invade first. Just as the first few drops of rain hit along the window pane, Lana reached up and locked the window procurring the woman's demise to mother nature's wrath since she was so hell bent on being outside in the middle of the night. She didn't move from where she was, she was steadily intent upon watching the goings and commings of them down below on the street.
As Lorelei's fingers curled around one of the rungs when she was partway up the fire escape, she felt her grip start to slip and slide so she grunted and choked down her control on the metal, swinging herself onto the nearest landing as the skies opened up above. "Fucks sake, can't the weather in this godforsaken country ever cooperate?" She asked softly to the sky, peering into the darkened window, not knowing the girl looking out the window just above was watching her. She gave the window a gentle shove and smirked when it slid cleanly up, the owner obviously never bothered with locking his window. She slid one leg over the windowsil and then the other, making soft gentle steps into the room, peering in the dark and listening over the patter of the rain just outside the window.
With a keen set of eyes you had been spotted entering the apartment window just below hers and she gave out a sighed breath. She knew the man wasn't home or at least she hoped he wasn't. She didn't want to think that he really was cheating on that good looking guy he had a romp with . It would ruin what little bit of good thoughts she had left of the giant fur boy.
Lana took another sip of the tea while watching, waiting to see if you came back out, however when you refused to even give a shadow out the window, she frowned and set the cup down. She might not like the man all that much, well ok perhaps she did, she was just a tad bit jealous that he didn't see her the way she looked at him.
Lana slipped on her fuzzy bunnies and headed down the stairs to the apartment where you were supposed to be. Her hand curled and she wrapped on the door rather loudly, checking to see if anyone were going to answer. Yes it was likely you wouldn't but she had to try right.
She stretched her neck from side to side, letting her eyes adjust to the darkness of the room inside the window, stepping carefully forward and flinching at the sound of the paper crinkling below her shoes. Breathing quietly, Lorelei listened for the sound of grunts, snores or movement in the flat but she heard nothing similar... while the slight smell of damp and dirty laundry made her wrinkle her nose. This had to be a guy's place, she thought to herself before hearing the knock at the door, the thuds making her jump in surprise. She paused breathing and listened again... her victim was not home it seemed so Lorelei thought quickly and stripped off her shirt, her hat and mussed her hair, making a quick movement in the direction of the banging thuds on the door. She wrenched it open and put on a lazy, languid pose as she was confronted with a cute girl in fuzzy bunny slippers. She pushed the strap of her lacy bra back up on her shoulder and gave the girl a pointed look. "Bit busy at the moment pet, do you need something?"
You came to the door and opened it in a rather hurried fashion, your hair a bit mussed. Lana furrowed her brows as it seemed to take you little time to exact yourself from your clothing and that in itself made her rather irritated by your presence. She wouldn't dignify you with an answer and when you leaned along the frame she pushed you right back into the apartment . She was silent as she looked about for Ben, knowing she had hopes he'd be gone. Her slippers were scuffing along the floor as she moved, her hair bouncing with every step she took along her back.
Past the living area, past the small kitchen and bath and into his room, searching for any signs of his pressence. When she found that he was infact not home she turned to face you with arms crossed and her head tilted. Her bunny slipper tapping against the floor sending it's ears to flop rather awkwardly as she obviously was seeking some sort of an answer.
The girl seemed fairly pissed off by Lorelei's appearance and in a trice, had sent her back into the flat without a word, pacing through the apartment and apparently searching something out. Her bluff had been called and while she was silently storming about the flat, Lorelei took the opportunity to grumpily pull her shirt back on and tie her hair back. She was just pushing her hat back out when the bunny slippers came back into her vision and the would-be thief lifted her eyes to meet the girl's own. She rolled her eyes and looked pointedly at the tapping slipper, as if the girl was allowed to demand information from her. "You're quite the interrupter, aren't you...?" Lorelei waved a hand, waiting for the girl to say her name before she started to walk towards the open door. This place was a bust for finding something to fence, and her best bet now was to leave the building quickly and go home. Maybe Syverus would knock on her door and fulfill that hint of promise in his eyes she had wanted so much to say yes to.
Weren't you an observant one ? Standing there fixing yourself while lana was waiting for some hint of an answer . When you spoke however there was a sudden depth of pain in her eyes and she simply shook her head and walked out the opened door before you, again pushing you aside. It was up the stairs she'd move, her phone set up with a sorenson type set so she could send messages at the simple finesse of her fingertips to keys. It was the police she was calling, after all she had gotten a good sense of what you looked like and it wouldn't take them too long to get there. You had just enough time to get out of the building before she would begin typing her report and a detailed description of your features and what apartment you invaded. No doubt they would send word to Ben alerting him to his apartment being invaded.
Lorelei huffed at the girl pushing her aside, not having seen the pained expression in her eyes as she shoved the thief out of the way and almost stormed out of the flat, her slippers making only slight scuffing noises on the stairs. This place is a complete bust. Lorelei thought as she exited the building at top speed, using her own phone to call in a favor from a friend who lived nearby and soon she had a borrowed, nondescript vehicle to drive home. Bloody child... why did she have to knock on the door? It obviously wasn't her apartment... but then again, young girls were pliable... Lorelei knew this first hand. Too bad this one hadn't taken the believable proof before her eyes as truth when Lorelei had opened the door. Ah well, that play only worked about half the time... The thought of a blown night however was weighing heavily on Lori's mind as she shifted gears in the vehicle and made her way home.
